This program takes Atmel AVR StudioTM Part Description XML files, one per device, and creates a single unified XML format output file, that combines all of the imported files to one single output file.
The XML output file contains the sections relevant for device programming, as used by software such as AVRDude and AVRDudeGUI. The AVR StudioTM device XML is filtered during processing to create a standardized device output format for use by downstream tools. The original AVR StudioTM device file format varies across device families.
A secondary file, by default called 'part_descriptions_merge.xml', is merged into the XML output file. It contains needed information that is not present in the AVR StudioTM XML files, such as device codes, and which devices are supported by each program.
Atmel does not allow the redistribution of original AVR StudioTM devices files.
The XML output of Part Description XML Aggregator has no such restriction, fell free to redistribute it as needed to support your project.
